About Me

Bringing a puppy into your life can be a tremendously joyful and fulfilling experience. A puppy is a lifetime commitment and a decision that should not be entered into lightly.

A purebred, preservation breeder is much more than someone that just breeds animals. The utmost care and consideration must be given before any breeding takes place. Health, temperament, breed specific health testing, and comparison to the breed standard are just a few aspects to be considered prior to breeding.

With so much care, effort, time and love invested in my dogs, I am dedicated to finding the best, loving, permanent homes for my puppies. I like to ask a lot of questions and I also have a questionnaire that I ask all potential families to complete.

My puppies are the offspring of my own beloved pets. It is difficult to see puppies leave, but seeing them thrive and bring such joy to their families is worth it. I take great care in finding the right homes for my puppies. Every forever home is a part of my extended family. Updates and photos are highly encouraged. I am here for unlimited guidance and support for the entirety of your puppy's life.

Life happens and circumstances change, I completely understand. In any instance you are ever unable to keep your puppy, it is expected that your puppy be returned to me.

Chris

Growing up in a "dog household," I was brought into the dog show scene at a very early age. I was hooked almost immediately, and this interest grew over the years into a very strong passion for conformation shows, and purebred dogs. I have participated in conformation shows since 1991.

Together, my mother Nancy and I co-own Springsport Kennels which we bred English Springer Spaniels. We have been successful in having multiple Canadian Champions, Obedience Champions and Therapy Dogs. Since then I have had German Shorthaired Pointers, American Cocker Spaniels, and Lagotto Romagnolo.

II am now pleased to announce my own CKC reg kennel of "Valkyrie Kennels" which will be home to my Lagotti and Cocker breeding programs.

I was encouraged early on to participate in Junior Handling, and I feel it was one of the most beneficial things I could have done for myself, for my professional handling career of 13 years, for my understanding of dogs, their standards and their care.  I am grateful to have many friends and mentors whom supported and taught me. Their knowledge and guidance has been instrumental in every aspect of my life with dogs.

I am located in the Ottawa Valley, Ontario, Canada.

I am a member in good standing of the Canadian Kennel Club, English Springer Spaniel Club of Canada, and Lagotto Romagnolo Club of Canada.
