Valkyrie Kennels

While I was still in Junior Handling (2003 or possibly earlier), I approached a woman in regards to possibly showing her American Cocker in Juniors. After competing, I was introduced to the breeder, Jean DeWolfe of Shadyhill Cockers. Jean offered to teach me about grooming and presentation. I began helping her at shows, spending time at the kennel and learning as much as I could. Under her guidance I took on more and more responsibility, and also learned about the breeding side.

When I moved to Ontario, some of Jean's dogs came to be shown, some to retire on my couch. I was honoured to be her handler, friend, "stray," and home for her legacy. She had hoped I would wish to breed Cockers; she was right.
